Get To Know David Dickey...Personally
I met my wife, Natalie, in August of 1998. After getting to know each other as friends, we started dating in October of that year. I knew after two months that I wanted to marry her. She on the other hand wasn't quite so sure. It took several months of prayer and growth on both of our parts to really get to the point where we knew without a doubt we were supposed to be together.
I have done things in my life that I am not proud of. However, those issues I have dealt with have made me the man I am today, and I would not trade that for anything. The one thing I am proud of is my relationship with my wife. We have weathered several storms in our relationship, and I am proud to have her by my side. Our relationship grew from "just caring for her", to "not being able to live my life without her".
We have been married since January 6, 2001. We had our first child November 11, 2003...a wonderful little girl we named Kirstyn. She will start Kindergarten soon. After several years of enjoying her, we added our 2nd (and last) child to the mix - a little boy this time, James Norley. We named him after me (James), and my father-in-law (Norley), which we were pretty excited about. James was born on May 24, 2007, so we are adjusting again to a little one, but it has been a joy.
Since 1998, when I met Natalie, we have been going to Lake Arlington Baptist Church. In fact, I met Natalie at LABC's college department. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time there, and are really enjoying getting involved. It is interesting that all of our friends have kids close in age to our daughter, so to see them all grow up together is a very neat thing.
I started my own insurance agency part time in 2003, while I was still an adjuster. Once I decided to make the jump to full-time agent, I knew it would be a difficult thing, taking some time to build up my income. But, it has been worth it, and I know that I am well on my way to achieving my goals and dreams.
